A fantastic synopsis of the first flurry of CO incidents from Chris Wallner on Snow Brains-
According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, 142 avalanches were reported throughout December 22nd – December 29th, 2017. This spike in avalanche reports is attributed to the first major snowstorm of the season impacting the area. Along with that, persistent winds have been constantly shifting the snowpack, which adds to the dangers.

Steamboat & Flat Tops: 4
Front Range: 72
Vail & Summit County: 19
