Still Fat and Fab on 4/25

This just might be the busiest (and best?) winter I’ve ever experienced in the San Juan mountains.

I’ve documented many seasonal highlights, both in words and pictures, on this blog since winter began. In addition to the 136 on-snow days noted below, it’s important to mention some additional highlights and milestones:

“For a sport so present in the now, it’s the memories that make it important. Going fast through nature. Those long moments lost to a turn, and the feeling of flying when you are thinking of everything and nothing at the exact same time.”

I wish I had more time to fuel the creative inside.

Lately, I’ve been up before the dawn, nursing cracked hands, a weathered face and a sore body. Wondering every morning where I am- a bed, a bunk, a paco on some living room floor?

Lately, I’ve enjoyed my life. Hitting it so dam hard every day.

How blessed am I to ski and cli...

Season’s Greetings Snowflakes! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice and Festivus. We’ve been gifted an amazing winter to date here in the San Juans. Although the precipitation momentarily paused this past week, there’s something special under the tree for us this year. I spoke with Santa and he’s guaranteed me we’re due for a Holiday Dump. I hope you’ve...
